WATCH: 8-Year-Old Chicago Boy Shovels Porch To Assist Dad, A UPS Driver

Photo and reporting by
CBS News Chicago
An 8-year-old in Logan Square grabbed the family shovel and cleared the front steps before his dad got home from a full shift driving a UPS truck. He wanted one less job waiting on the porch.
The parent signed off
His mom didn't shovel it for him and didn't tell him to do it. She handed him the shovel when he asked, then filmed it from the doorway.
Why we picked this one
Nobody assigned this. A kid saw a job that needed doing before his dad walked in the door, and did it first.
Snowstorm hits. Grab a shovel. Knock on the elderly neighbor's door before you touch your own driveway.
