Third-grader hosts food drives

Dylan Pfeifer's first plan was to get his classmates internet access. That turned out to be too complicated for an eight-year-old to pull off, so he switched to something he could actually run: a food drive on his own cul-de-sac in Chandler, Arizona, with a handwritten sign. He's kept doing it, drive after drive, and collected over 1,000 cans and boxes of food.
The parent worked alongside
Dylan's mom made the flyers and posters and posted the drive dates on Facebook. The idea, the sign, and the cul-de-sac were his.
Why we picked this one
The internet access idea was the harder problem to solve. He didn't abandon the instinct to help, he just found the version of it sized for an eight-year-old with a poster board.
Same idea, smaller table: pick a number to raise, promise the whole pitcher's worth goes to something specific, then tell the neighborhood exactly what it bought.

Dylan's first idea was too big for one kid to pull off, so he found one that wasn't. What's the version of that sitting in your own driveway this Saturday?
