Brent grew up in Joliet, Illinois, the oldest of four boys. Loud house. He’s been comfortable in chaos ever since. He built Second Porch, the first sharing-economy rental site, and sold it to HomeAway in 2011. He’s rebooted brands as a CMO and chaired panels at SXSW and Cannes Lions. Today he runs Trip Jones.
He raised three kids across two households, a lot of it on his own. That’s where the belief comes from. You don’t need a calm house. You don’t need the right week, the right gear, or both parents in the kitchen. Kids don’t need the conditions to be good. They need somebody to say yes anyway. Hardest work he’s ever done. Also the best.
We gave them real things to do and got out of the way.
